Luciana Paoluzzi grew-up at home in Rome with her parents. Luciana Paoluzzi's father is an Italian Army officer, and Maria Rota Paoluzzi's mother is the former lover of Benito Mussolini. She attended a local high school, and after graduation in 1955, she enrolled in marine engineering in the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only female in the class.
